Truly Scrumptious

**Prayer request: I wrote this a few days ago and hadn't gotten around to adding the pictures. In the time since, Kiel's stepmom Liz has suffered a major stroke and is in the hospital recovery from brain surgery. We would appreciate any and all prayers you could send up for Liz Andersen, and that the doctors watching over her in Missouri are filled with strength.**
My oh my, have I been a busy little bee since Saturday! Like I said in my last post, we had plans for the drive-in for Saturday night date night. Well, a few hours before the show we got a super fun offer to go out for drinks and couples' game night with a few friends of ours...which I was totally down scrapping the movie for. Mr. Andersen had other ideas.
Let's start by saying I make 99% of all social plans for our little family- Kiel always goes along with whatever ideas I come up with, plans I make, friends I invite over, etc- and does so happily. THIS is something he used to his advantage Saturday evening; when I told him about the change of plans he just looked at me, frowned, and said "Babe, I REALLY have been looking forward to seeing these movies, can we reschedule with friends?" *sigh* the fact he NEVER argues about what we do paired with the 55+ hour work week he had worked had me sunk. I may have pouted, just a little.
However, I have a confession: snuggling up in the car under lots of blankets and pillows, with Pep curled in a little ball on my lap, sipping a glass of wine... pretty close to perfection. It didn't hurt matters that The Other Guys was beyond friggin' hilarious ("I got so drunk last night...I thought a tube of toothpaste was astronaut food") and Salt was a lot more entertaining than I thought. My only beef with Angelina Jolie as an ass-kicking double agent? She needs to put on a few pounds before I can actually believe she'd be able to roundhouse kick five guys at once without her toothpick of a leg shattering. Just sayin'. best seats in the house!

We were up bright and early Sunday morning for brunch on the beach! We had such a fabulous time with Kiel's stepsiblings mom and her husband (I sat here for a solid 15 trying to figure out what they'd be called...step mother in law? no. I gave up.) and Pepper enjoyed the company of their sweet as can be pooches.
There is something about old goldens that just makes my heart melt

After walking the Bob Jones trail on yet another completely gorgeous day, the three of us were beat! Mind you, walking 5 miles wearing skinny jeans and flip flops probably wasn't the best idea, but it was a last-minute idea.

This week has been uneventful, besides the fact that Martha Stewart keeps calling asking for her swagger back. Oh yes that's right... Lauren Robinson Andersen has become all sorts of domestic. I have painted: I have whipped together the most delectable nectarine crumble EVER: That WHOLE bowl is fat free. Serious.

I scored big at Farmers: I have fully embraced my calling as a chef (Super Healthy Eggplant Rollatini that are TO DIE FOR):
I probably should have taken a picture when they came out of the oven nice and bubbly, but the day-after-leftover shot works too.

and on today's agenda? Getting all Bakerella in this bish and baking red velvet cake pops for our dear friends' going away party tonight: Will post pictures of the outcome later! :)Daniel and Laura are moving to FRANCE with his job for a year! Raise your hand if you're jealous. *arm pops out of socket*I hope you all have a wonderful, snuggly weekend.

I said the SAME exact thing after Jer and I saw Salt... it was exciting to watch and better than I expected, but you can't tell me her skinny little I-take-care-of-6-kids-a-day-and-eat-celery-for-dinner ass could do that much damage to Russian spies??

Those red velvet cake balls are my FAVORITE! Good job on all the Martha-ness. She rocks (you know, aside from the fact that she's a convicted felon....hehe).
